Sunrise is a movement of young people (under the age of 35) working to stop climate change and create millions of good jobs in the process. We fight for a clean, sustainable future through systemic change like the Green New Deal. We don’t subscribe to the notion that in order for some to have a healthy, livable future, others must suffer.

Sunrise UNC is a local hub of the Sunrise Movement, a movement of young people (under 35) fighting to stop the climate crisis and win a Green New Deal. We are dedicated to combatting climate change by holding UNC accountable for its impact and educating the UNC community about institutional issues.
